Today has been very interesting, and it's only 1:30! I did stuff that I never imagined I would do. I've been alone all day (my parents are at work).
First off: I woke up at 7:00 A.M.-that's a ridiculously early time for me during the summer. I never wake up anywhere near that time unless it's a school day. At 7:10, I walked outside and stared at the phantom tree next to my home. There was an old pear tree that was probably there before the house, and a few weeks ago it split down the middle. We have no idea why or how it divided; it could have been from lightning, or maybe it just died? It was very sad, though...I used to climb that tree and watch my cats chase squirrels up it. 'Twas most likely the biggest and oldest pear tree in Middlesboro. We had to pay some rude jackasses 450 dollars(!) to cut it down before it had time to fall on the house. So I stared at that stump. Just looked at it, angrily, for about ten minutes.
Then, I went inside to fix myself breakfast to calm down. This is also strange. I never eat breakfast, let alone cook up a big one, just for me. I made three chocolate chip pancakes, a fried egg, and heated up some left over sausages. I let my food digest and watched the Cash Cab on Discovery Channel.
Next, I decide to walk to the nearest park - Ford's Woods - to run. Me. Exercise. Baha. I absolutely NEVER do anything like that. I've always hated sports and running and anything else that involves physical effort. See how weird this all is? I put on my old tennis shoes, get my iPod, and stick 5 dollars in my bra. I leave a note just in case anyone gets home early and worries about where I've gone off to. I begin my journey at about 10:00(A.M.), and think about the different paths I could take to get to the park. I just follow some obscure little backroad, not even knowing where I will end up. The houses back through the way were beautiful and had lovely grass and willow trees. It turns out the road did lead to my original destination. I was glad to see that only a mother and her two children were there, because I don't like running in front of people. I stretched behind some trees and began to walk around the track, slowly building up to a quick jog. Like I said, I don't exercise at all, so I couldn't run for more than like 2 minutes at a time. Ha. I spent about two hours there just laying in grass, walking, jogging, and watching little kids swing. It felt right.
I took a different way to get back home. A longer route, so I could explored more backroads that I had no recollection of ever existing. I drank in the sky, and put flowers in my hair...really, really strange. I ended up at the 7/11 that's a block from my house. I bought two limited-edition, glass-bottled Dr Pepper's.
And then I was home, taking a shower.
I guess Middlesboro isn't all that bad.
